Angelo, the ghost said, you must protect Sarah. You must keep her safe from those who seek to do her harm.
But how can I do that? Angelo asked.
You must be her guardian, Michael replied. You must be her avenging angel.
Angelo bowed his head in acceptance. He knew he had to do whatever it took to keep Sarah safe. He had to be her avenging angel.
Angelo agrees to take on the mission, which leads him to enlist the help of his old friend, Frank, who is also a former hitman.

Cast and Characters
Who better to play a former hitman than Sylvester Stallone? you might be asking. As Angelo in Avenging Angelo, Stallone plays a retired killer tasked with protecting Sarah, the daughter of a mob boss. Despite his gruff exterior, Angelo is a gentle giant who slowly opens up to Sarah and reveals his vulnerable side. He knows how to handle himself in a fight, but the real battle he faces is within himself: to choose between his old life of violence and his newfound desire to protect Sarah. His performance is both touching and powerful, and its clear that Stallone was the perfect choice for this role.
Madeleine Stowe as Sarah, the daughter of Angelo’s former employer
Madeleine Stowe stars as Sarah, the daughter of Angelos former employer. She is a strong-willed and courageous woman who puts the safety of her father above her own.
But shes no damsel in distress. Sarah knows her way around a gun and isnt afraid to take on the enemy. She stands up to the criminals, sacrificing her own safety to protect her father.
Its thanks to Sarah that Angelo is able to take on the criminals and ultimately avenge the death of her father. Her determination and bravery provide a real source of inspiration and make her a truly remarkable character.
Anthony Quinn as Michael, Angelo’s former employer
Anthony Quinn was a great choice to play Michael, Angelos former employer. Quinn had an undeniable presence on the big screen, and his portrayal of Michael was no exception.
But what made this role so special?
Well, Quinn was able to create a complex character who was both kind and fierce. His performance was a great reminder of the power of redemption, as Michael ultimately helps Angelo in his quest for justice.
Its safe to say that Quinn brought a great deal of depth to the character of Michael, and that he was an important part of Avenging Angelos success.
Ann-Margret as Maureen, Angelo’s love interest
Ann-Margrets portrayal of Maureen, Angelos love interest, is one of the highlights of Avenging Angelo. Her character is strong, independent, and determined. Shes not afraid to stand up for what she believes in and is the perfect complement to the action-packed story.
But at the same time, Ann-Margret brings out the softer side of Maureen; her compassion and her vulnerability. Maureen is a complex character, and Ann-Margret does an incredible job of conveying her emotions and making her feel like a real person.
Its clear why this role is so well remembered; Ann-Margret makes Maureen a truly unforgettable character.
James Russo as Frank, a former hitman and Angelo’s friend
James Russo plays Frank, a former hitman and Angelos best friend, in the 2002 film Avenging Angelo. Russo is no stranger to the hitman role, having starred in The Last American Virgin and The Gambler, and he brings an air of authenticity to the part.
But Russos portrayal of Frank goes much deeper than that. He brings a real depth and pathos to the role, creating a character who is both sympathetic and dangerous.
Its a testament to Russos skill that hes able to make Frank such a complex and nuanced character, and his portrayal of the friendship between Angelo and Frank is a highlight of the film.
Julie Benz as Linda, Sarah’s friend
Julie Benz plays Linda, Sarah’s friend in the 2002 action-comedy Avenging Angelo. She brings a lot of heart and humor to the role, making her a memorable part of the film.
But why do we like Linda so much?
Well, for one, she provides a necessary comic relief to the story. Every time she appears on screen, she lightens the mood and brings a smile to the audience. She also provides a strong sense of loyalty and trustworthiness to Sarah, always being there for her in a time of need.
Overall, Julie Benz does a great job as Linda, Sarah’s friend. She brings life to the story and is a key relationship in the film.
Richard Roundtree as Detective Andrews, a police officer investigating the case
Detective Andrews is played by Richard Roundtree in the 2002 movie Avenging Angelo. Have you seen him before? You probably have: hes a veteran actor best known for his iconic role as John Shaft in the 1971 classic.
In this movie, Detective Andrews is a no-nonsense police officer whos investigating a case related to the title character. Hes got a sharp eye for detail and a strong sense of justice.
Hes a great foil for the title character, providing a more measured contrast to the vigilante justice that Angelo is enacting. Its a testament to Roundtrees acting prowess that hes able to bring such a stand-out character to life.
